STEM Challenge Program

Each afternoon of aftercare is begun with a STEM challenge. These are challenges for groups, partners or individuals. The problem forces kids to think outside of the box, work as a team and communicate while designing or engineering a solution to the problem! It is a great way to start the afternoon.

Students are grouped two ways. First, students needing help on reading, writing and mathematics will be grouped based on grade (K-1, 2-3, 4-5). Our Mathematics and Reading/Writing specialist will work directly with students guiding and addressing content-related issues.

Service Learning Program

Students will be engaged in a service learning program that has kids learn about an issue, take action, and then reflect on what they have learned through the experience.
